Slatted Cedar Headrest

Lying back on a bench, the problem is always your head. Flat wood, hard edge, and no good angle.

This is a low arch that solves it. The top is a run of slats over two curved side rails, so the shape lifts the back of the skull and lets the neck drop into the curve rather than bridging across a plank.

The slats are spaced rather than closed. Water runs straight through instead of sitting under your head, and the whole thing dries between rounds.

A cutout in one end rail gives you somewhere to hook a finger, so it comes off the bench in one hand and goes back on the shelf when you are done.

Set it near the wall end of the bench, lie back, and stop propping yourself up.
