This isn’t a flat-pack kit.
Hand-built clear Western Red Cedar, inside and out. Traditional löyly heat over hot stones, an optional red and near-infrared therapy add-on, and a hot room built the way sauna has been done for centuries.

Cedar Sauna, in detail.
Real löyly, real cedar
Ladle water over hot stones and the room answers. Clear Western Red Cedar holds the heat and the scent. Every board is fitted by hand over a framed, insulated structure.
Light therapy, if you want it
Red and near-infrared therapy is available as an optional add-on, with the configuration specified per build.
Built to stand outside
Standing-seam metal roof, dual-pane low-E glazing, R-19 walls and ceiling, and an epoxy-coated concrete floor. This is an outdoor building made for year-round use.

Why thermal therapy
What heat can support.
Decades of peer-reviewed research connect heat, cold, and light exposure with measurable changes in the human body. We keep the claims careful because bodies are different, and outcomes are not guaranteed.
Recovery
Heat exposure raises muscle temperature and activates stress-response pathways your body uses for repair.
Sleep
The post-sauna temperature drop can help the body downshift toward deeper rest.
Mental clarity
Cold exposure can raise norepinephrine, which is part of why contrast often feels sharp and alerting.
Cardiovascular
Regular Finnish sauna bathing is associated with vascular and cardiovascular benefits in long-term studies.
Metabolism
Heat and cold both create a controlled physical stress that asks the body to regulate itself.
Immunity
Thermal stress is being studied for its relationship to immune signaling and adaptation.
Inflammation
Heat, cold, and recovery protocols are being studied for changes in inflammatory markers.
Longevity
The strongest sauna data is observational, but the signal around frequent use is hard to ignore.
Optional light therapy
Red + near-infrared therapy
Red and near-infrared therapy is available as an optional add-on. Manufacturer, model, quantity, and exact configuration are specified for each build.
- Red and near-infrared therapy as an add-on category
- Exact equipment and placement specified per build
- Available as an add-on, specified per build

Research-informed
What the science says - and doesn’t.
The research on heat, cold, and light is encouraging, but not definitive. Different people respond differently. We build the sauna to make the ritual visible and repeatable, not to promise specific outcomes.
Heat
- Cardiovascular load similar to light-to-moderate exercise
- Heat-shock protein response studied in thermal stress
- Post-sauna temperature drop may support sleep
Cold
- Norepinephrine rise can feel alerting
- Brown adipose activation is part of cold-exposure research
- Autonomic adaptation and cold tolerance may build over time
Contrast
- Layers heat and cold stressors in a single session
- Practices rapid shifts between warmth and cold
- Often reported as more mood-elevating than either alone
Light
- Red and near-infrared wavelengths interact with mitochondrial pathways
- Studied for recovery and discomfort in some protocols
- Available as an optional add-on configured per build
Yutori saunas and optional light therapy are general wellness products. We always recommend discussing substantial routine changes with your healthcare provider.
Questions, answered.
- How is this different from a flat-pack sauna?
- It's a framed outdoor building, not a kit. Clear Western Red Cedar is fit over 2×4 framing with R-19 insulated walls and ceiling, a standing-seam metal roof, and an epoxy-coated concrete floor.
- Does it have infrared, or traditional heat?
- Traditional heat first: real löyly over hot stones. Red and near-infrared therapy is available as an optional add-on specified per build.
- What power does the sauna need?
- The sauna needs electrician-provided 240V / 50A service. The final electrical scope is confirmed for the specific build.
- Can I change the size?
- Yes. The standard hot room is 4′ × 7′ and seats one to three, but it's made to order and the dimensions can be tailored to your space.
- How long does it take to build?
- Roughly six to twelve weeks from order, depending on the queue and any customization. Each one is built by Yutori's co-founder makers in Graham, Washington.
- How much does the cedar sauna cost?
- Pricing is shared in conversation, not posted. Book a tour, stand in the working sauna, then we'll talk specifics for your space.
